Spirulina smoothie – source of protein and iron

This is our favourite choice for breakfast. It is extremely nutritious and filling both for the stomach and for the eyes with its amazing emerald-green colour. Senses are satisfied with a full taste, and we feel high and energised for the working day ahead of us!

This Spirulina smoothie contains only 5 simple ingredients: banana, peanut butter, vegetable milk or yogurt, Organic Spirulina Powder and a little bit of lemon or lime juice.

You can always “spice it up” with extra protein by adding our Organic Vegan Protein Neutral 80% with all BCAAs or Organic Unshelled Hemp Seeds. It is the best raw breakfast ever and your body will be so grateful!

Spirulina is a blue-green algae known as a multivitamin for vegans as it is a concentrated source of different vitamins and mineral. It is very high in protein (around 60%, 1 tablespoon = 4 g protein) and contains all essential amino acids which makes her a complete protein.  It is highly appreciated by vegans because of its extremely high content of iron, B vitamins and minerals like iodine, beta-carotene, antioxidants, and manganese. Just like everything green, it contains a lot of chlorophyll and is used for detoxifying and alkalising the body.

Vitamin C and iron

Spirulina is often taken to enhance iron in blood. Adding natural Vitamin C such as lemon or lime juice or the richest source of bioavailable vitamin C, Organic Camu Camu Powder, to your spirulina smoothie will promote iron absorption.

Many find spirulina’s smell and taste somewhat unpleasant as it reminds a little bit of seaweed. We have discovered that this smell and taste can be absolutely covered and even bring its deliciousness out by mixing it with peanut butter or some other nut butter of your choice (almond, macadamia, etc,) in your smoothy. You will also love it in desserts especially in combination with Organic Raw Cocoa Powder or Organic Raw Carob or Organic Roasted Carob powder that successfully mask its “sea” smell. On top of that, we can boast with our anyways extremely delicious and pleasant smelling Organic Spirulina Powder from Energy Feelings.
